Student Handbook

Welcome to the VLMI Online Bible Training Center. Thank you for being a part of this learning center. The courses were designed with your spiritual growth in mind. They present scriptures and biblical topics in a clear way that is easy to understand and apply.

Your training will be presented through videos, written materials, and online tests. Your instructors have been recorded—at times in a studio, and at times in a classroom setting. They will teach, encourage you, and give you practical instructions for developing your personal life, your relationships and interactions with others, and your ability to help and minister to others.

Every believer has the same commission from Jesus—to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20), but we need to know how to do that. This online learning program will help you personally and give you the training and skills you need to follow Jesus’ instruction. We’re here to help you.

“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2 ESV

  1. Listen intently to the videos; do not allow anything to distract you.
  2. During each video session, look up the scriptures in your Bible and follow the course outline.
  3. Take notes on what is taught in the video that does not appear on the course outline.
  4. Have a regular time to study your class notes and outlines. Look up all of the scriptures to see how they apply to you. Ask yourself: “What do I need to change in my life? How will what I’m learning enable me to help others?”
  5. Endeavor to put something you have learned in each class into practice immediately.
  6. Pray the prayers found in Ephesians 1:15-23; 3:14-21 for yourself each day. Maintain an active prayer life—talking to God and listening for His response through His Word and by His Spirit.
  7. You are a student, make this time of training a priority. You will want to avoid overloading your schedule with other things. Learning will take some sacrifice and discipline.
  8. Attend church regularly to continue to learn, to fellowship with other believers, and to use the skills that you are developing through the online Bible training.
